The law has changed on using your mobile phone while driving

The law has changed on using your mobile phone while driving.

Until now, the law has prevented drivers from โ€œinteractive communicationโ€ while driving, but the new laws tighten the rules to include a wide range of mobile phone uses.

These are:
๐Ÿš— illuminating the screen
๐Ÿš— checking the time
๐Ÿš— checking notifications
๐Ÿš— unlocking the device
๐Ÿš— making, receiving, or rejecting a telephone or internet based call
๐Ÿš— sending, receiving or uploading oral or written content
๐Ÿš— sending, receiving or uploading a photo or video
๐Ÿš— utilising camera, video, or sound recording
๐Ÿš— drafting any text
๐Ÿš— accessing any stored data such as documents, books, audio files, photos, videos, films, playlists, notes or messages
๐Ÿš— accessing an app
๐Ÿš— accessing the internet.

There are a few exceptions, which allow you to use your in built and hands free functions in your phone, but you could still be prosecuted if either of these actions cause dangerous driving.
