Road Safety Week is the Brake road safety charity’s most impactful road safety campaign, supported every year by thousands of organisations and communities and everyone involved is committed to sharing their road safety messages.

The 2023 Road Safety Week ran from the 19th to 25th November and the key theme was “Let’s Talk About Speed”. In recognition of Road Safety Week, on the 22nd November, Convey’s Commercial Director Karen Crispe hosted a live and interactive webinar, along with guest speaker and top safety expert Andrew Drewary from Road Safety Smart.

During this informative and engaging session Andrew presented our audience with some stark realities around driving in wet weather for example, especially in relation to speed. According to recent data, over 3,000 accidents in the UK alone annually are caused by aquaplaning, many of those involving commercial vehicles. Andrew went on to discuss how speed-related issues can impact your business, and what steps you can all take to ensure compliance and protect your O licence, at the same time as avoiding exposure to unnecessary risk, financial or otherwise.
